the poster show / works in monosylabik experiment

the poster show series celebrates the diversity of urban art from graffiti to stencil graphics and character designs to illustrations. by reproducing urban art into affordable pieces we are giving the audience a chance to own exclusive and original pieces of artworks by reknown urban + street artists in very limited run. it is also an excercise in bringing together artists and designers both in the local and international graphic design and street art scene, aiming to support and promote established as well as up+coming talents of our generation, reaching out to a wider audience and offerring the freshest urban works in today's state of visual overload.

the first of many installments of the poster show is entitled WORKS IN MONOSYLABIK EXPERIMENT. selected artists are invited to interpret the theme and submit a one-colour (black) artwork. all artworks will be printed on approx 150 gsm premium archival stock provided graciously by design line paper supplier. each requested poster will be vailable on a limited run and reprinted only on a made to order basis.

' It has been five years since Fathullah Luqman put out a proper recording. The last time we heard from him was on the Karat Besi Simfoni album, the fourth offering from his highly-acclaimed grindcore band Infectious Maggots, which was released by Nova Records back in 2000.
This inevitable return to his first love for visual arts brought Fathul to the whole of Java, traversing the island, spending fabulous time at the many art studios visited and ceaselessly learning from the fellow artists met. For a while it seemed like music has been abandoned and forgotten. However, as clichés go, you can take the man out of music but you cannot take music out of the man'

we hope that you had a terrific weekend. we sure did but thats a whole other story.. anyway, we're delighted to announce that +wondermilk will be participating in this months popUP warehouse sale. popUP sales are organized monthly by the friendly people at popUP. with no permanent space of their own, they will pop up any where they can. this months feature items for sale includes popUP's designer brands, uk brands such as Joseph and Ghost, Baci clothing and accesories, australia's own Bond lingerie and of course goodies from our baby, +wondermilk.

lazy sunday garage sale + lomoswap

all sundays were meant to be spent being lazy. its true. being lazy is good infact it keeps us smiling thru the week.

we sacrificed the first sunday of december to get reacquainted with our beloved lomographers. the lomoswap was indeed something different. not only were we the first lomography society to held such an event but the lomoswap is the FIRST lomoswap ever! booyah! we've grown fond of the lomoswap so we're keeping it on til god knows when. so those of you with lomographs you would like to swap, come on down.

another event that we had on the same day was our garage sale. wow! even the staff shopped til they drop. it was all good. that saying is true : one man's junk is another man's treasure. we MAY have it every month but thats not confirmed as yet. but we will keep you notified so watch this space.

wwf rimbun dahan 05 opening night

the opening night was a blast! we arrived a bit late due to traffic and missed out on the lamb. bummer. but the char kuey tiaw was good too. terry came down from singapore and we hung out on the stairs leading down to the garden instead of at the tables like we usually do, with everyone else till late. we had some mighty good laughs with a couple of potheads and some drunkheads. by the end of the night we sold all of our artworks and that was pretty awesome... // ifzan

clickproject will be exhibiting 3 new works at this year's prestigious WWF exhibition at rimbun dahan, september 10th, 8pm.
our works are entitled the wildflower series: aurora, sexy lexi and summer sweet, 34" x 36", mixed media, 2005.

this series explores and juxtaposes street and urban art forms, with specifics to grafitti, in a traditional yet rebellious context. graffiti, much like wild flowers, bloom and blossom in the midst of our chaotic city life, representing a notion of self expression and belonging to a place or time. identity, provenance and definition are the themes which allude to the very idea of the wildflower series. these are images that evokes emotions that either defines or creates an aspiration. what one aspires to become or to have is a result of an inspiration either driven by positive experience or a thing that captivates. the entire thought process required democracy as it is with freedom that a point of interest, a new concept, a vision, however rebellious or beautiful has all the potential of becoming something.

+wondermilk art gallery is proud to present; ART YOURS! : artists search 2005/2006.

in conjunction with our gallery opening this coming july, we will be organizing an artist search to identify, support and promote the most promising contemporary artists today, to reach further and dig deeper to seek out the freshest talents. creative individuals and/or groups are invited to submit their works and +wondermilk art gallery will select a group of artists with the most outstanding and creative submission for representation and exhibition at the gallery. the first of which exhibition will start in July 2005. subsequent exhibitions will be held bi-monthly.

this artist search is part of +wondermilk art gallery's efforts to constantly showcase talents that wouldn't normally fit into the more mainstream art scene and whose urge to create goes beyond the boundaries of style and tradition. +wondermilk art gallery, now in its 5th year, is a lo-fi art space with a focus on young contemporary artists. we support and encourage young and emerging artists to realise their abilities and express their art effectively. we offer a gallery experience that circulates around notions of friendly and informal, yet filtered through larger discussions usually from personal viewpoints, never too self-important or formal and as contemporary as the artists we work with.

so if you consider yourself a creative force, this is your call for submissions.
